UT Martin (3-6) slides down I-29 after a 75-36 stomping by SDSU. UT Martin was picked to finish second in the OVC behind Tennessee Tech.
The Yotes (4-6) look to end a 5 game skid with their final game of the non-conference slate.
Not sure how this game will go, but lets end the non-con slate with a win.

Massey has us winning 66-53.
Warren N has us winning 68-61.
I think Massey uses a bit too much data from the previous year in their early-season numbers. At this point I just want to see some consistency, good ball movement on offense and better cohesion and effort on defense. If all of that happens I think we can't help but win. This needs to be a confidence-builder.

Keys to the game as alluded to by Kiyoat:
- limit turnovers
- increase defensive intensity (especially if shots stop falling)
- play as a team on both fronts
- play the game for all 4 quarters
This team has, IMO, not yet proven to us that they’re a team but rather a group of individuals and coaches all playing the same game. Hopefully that changes today.

I watched a few minutes of their game in Brookings. They only had 8 players available due to injury/sickness. Leading scorer is a freshman but she's out with a stress fracture.

I think they just need something to go right for them today so they get a little bit of confidence. Hit some 3's or make some steals - something.

Their second leading scorer is also a freshman. She had foul trouble the first half. She is their 6'2" forward who moves fairly well. If they are currently picked 2nd in the OVC, the bar is a bit lower for the first team OVC squad. They depend on 3 point shots and slowing the pace with their shorter bench. UT-Martin has a couple shooters who could not shake the defense. They have only 10 players on the season box score. They may need to pull a redshirt as 3 freshmen have not played this year. |

Does our team know that halftime starts AFTER the second quarter? I swear they play like the 2nd quarter is the halftime break.

If Robins was conscious, we'd be up by 10. |

The one thing we have succeeded so far in doing this season is make objectively average or below teams look incredibly better than they are.
