Alright y’all, it’s game day. I’m guilty of getting off topic in this thread but we’ll have plenty of time in a few weeks to bicker and argue this if we want. Let’s not give state the satisfaction of the fan base fighting over the kids on rivalry day. All my thoughts aside I hope we go out there and knock the jacks back from their perfect summit season. Yotes by 2 - 82-80 As someone mentioned earlier, the discussion just shows that the fans care. I don't mind it. The Jacks fans can say whatever they like. I'm sure they are lurking here a lot more than we are reciprocating. And that says something too. I'll predict a respectable loss with some good arc-shooting by the Yotes: Jacks win 75-70. |

Looks like we were way better prepared than last time. Maybe we'll only lose by 50 today. If you aren't questioning everything at this point you should be. I'll give a pass this year but if it looks like this again next year all options should be on the table. NAIA teams could perform better. I was excited about the Karius hire originally but she has a lot to prove to get me back on her side, and I'm a Homer through and through. We weren't asking to win these games but the fact that we can't even be competitive at home says a lot about the kids and the staff. There. I'm done.

No coaching on defense and running the shot clock to 0 every possession is not working too well either. Sad.

Kayla is coaching this team to not lose rather than to win. We aren’t contesting for O boards so we can get back in transition to prevent fast breaks. She is trying to protect players because of the short bench. I’d rather see us trust the girls that they are conditioned well enough to run the floor.

#3 Glad I went to work and did not burn a day off.

So is there a narrative where State is holding something back in their other conference games? If that’s true, look out in March.
I have to think our coaches are at least somewhat culpable here. You teach them to play fast, then halfway through the season you completely change tack. I think Kayla will learn from this, but I’d rather Sw her turn these girls loose.

After my initial venting I'm coming to realize that without Grace, this team may not win more than 3 league games. We are just not that talented right now. She is the only player that shows any hustle. If Dawn rolled Yote team out against this state team we still lose by at least 20. So I guess coaching may be worth 20 points in this matchup, but talent is worth the other 30. History may eventually tell us that this state team is an all-timer but I'm still pissed that we're going to lose by 50 and there is no excuse for it. Let's hope that the girls coming in next year are better than what we've got now. Then again, we did give an extension to head football coach who lost a listless performance by 50 points. Maybe my expectations are just too high but I refuse to accept that. |

We are essentially a team of freshmen being asked to compete against a team of seniors. It’s not quite that binary but it’s not far off.
