If mike wouldn’t get it I don’t think there is anyway he could stay on the staff nor would it be good for the locker room if he stayed. No fault of his own it just may need to be an entirely fresh start and new staff. Seems like the girls want him to be the coach and if he wouldn’t get it I think it would be tough to keep him around in an assistant role.

So she "lost the locker room" to her assistant coach, began to look for reasons to miss games and allow that assistant coach to coach the team and then asked that assistant coach to move with her to her new job?
Some of you guys are wild.

Well, when the conclusions make that much sense how could you not draw them? Oftentimes in professional settings people have their legs cut out from under them by somebody and then invite them to their next job to do it again!

Don't understand you people wanting Mike to stay. He was suppose to be the defensive specialist. I don't think that worked out very well. We need all new staff. Been a tough 2 years.

It was the lack of team speed why our defense was bad . That's why we looked bad against fast teams liked Oral Roberts and Omaha. But looked good against slower St Thomas. We are bringing more players who will help. When he was at state they had great defense. I heard Mike is a good recruiter

Part of the problem that caused some of this was that we were trying to run a system that we aren’t built for. Instead of building to our strengths we played right into our weaknesses.

In the past we had Hannah so defense will no as good as those years. As far as our poor passing they addressed it with Miah Monaghan

Hannah was a terrific player and added another level defensively with her size however the Yotes were number 1 in the league even before Hannah played. I would have to agree it is your system and what you stress and emphasize by putting kids in the right position to be successful.. Remember we were the best defensive team in the conference with Kate Liveringhaus as our staring center. No offense to her but she was not Hannah. Unfortunately the transition defense the past two years has been terrible. If we bring in an established head coach with a philosophy we will get better quickly. Size and athleticism surely helps defensively and covers up lots of errors however we surely could be better than what we were. In transition defense we were terrible at locating the ball and our kids would run back defensively looking at our basket instead of the ball. Teams continually advanced the ball and got any open shot they wanted. I do believe most teams struggle and shoot a much lower percentage if you get them in the half court and make them grind, however transition allows team to score efficiently

Your post hits the nail on the head. Especially at the forward and post positions our players the last few years were wearing cement overshoes getting up and down the court AND moving inside the paint. It wasn't just Hannah in previous years. Liveringhaus, Frederick et-al could MOVE. If we get the Mankato State coach, she's going to recruit to change this.

Since it’s all speculation, I’ll throw another name into the cage match: Mandy Pearson from UM-Duluth. Defense and results.
