Larsen was a backup at both guard spots last year so he definitely played- primarily on special teams. It looks like he beat out Kohls who he backed up last year so we definitely have some good depth on the OL.

Excited for tonight. Especially after feeling like we have unfinished business coming off of last year's great season. Feels a little strange, but I guess I'm ditching the red and bringing the kids down to Verm dressed in black for a Northern State funeral. =)

As a former Pierre Governor, definitely interested to see if #22 Cade Kaiser for the Wolves gets his hands on the ball at WR tonight. He was a huge part of 4 of the last 8 titles for Pierre and can play ball at multiple positions, I would argue at any level. Northern graduated their top 3 receivers so I'd imagine it will be hard to keep a kid like that off the field. Not making any score predictions, but will say this, if he's in the game, Kaiser will be a challenging assignment.

I can't believe we get to go to a football game today already. Feels so early. Like, I have seen hardly any football on TV yet this season. Usually I've had a good helping before that first Dome game. The most wonderful time of the year is back!

Not sure I saw Nothern step out on that first drive but thank goodness they did. They ran it right down our throats that first drive.

So far, Bouman hasn't been very impressive in the passing game. Maybe that's to be expected in game 1. We've been gashing them in the run game all day. Not much reason to do much else. After the first series the defense has been good. We look really fast on both sides of the ball, but it could just be relative to the competition. We look like a good FCS team beating up on an average D2 team.

Seems like he's making the right reads, just getting a little too much air under them. The throw to JJ in the end zone was a beautiful ball, the DB just got a lucky hand on it. Hopefully just first game adrenaline working it's way out.

I had to leave at halftime, but I was surprised at how well the black out theme was done. Uniforms were very well done. Decent amount of fan buy in. Production embracing the theme. Students all in on it. I wouldn't mind seeing this again for an impactful game sometime.

He just looked a bit off. Passing game is so intricate that a failure in any detail can make it look bad. I think that's what we saw tonight.

Harsh. He was 9/12 with 2 drops and was never really allowed to have a pass heavy drive. We have some things to clean up, but our passing game ain’t one.

I was not all in with the black uniforms or the blackout theme or any of it, but not lying, when Back In Black hit the speakers I got chills. That was pretty cool.

I figure there are only so many years you can get out of equipment and our 3rd unis, the silver set, were due to be replaced, so we went with black. I'm fine with it now.

Game thoughts tomorrow, I'll just say it's hard for the offense to get in rhythm when they can't get in the field due to special teams TDa.

We looked very fast. Time and space, we get it and we're gone, and our D and coverage take it away.

A real good student crowd . We played a lot of players ran the ball with 3 good backs. We made some mistakes should have had more points but not a big deal in first game.  D 1 against D 2
the difference is team speed and it showed tonite
