I didn't see it, and I have no idea what the joke was, but he's lucky she didn't try to choke him or something trying to lighten things up in the aftermath of that one.

Elcoyote I too miss the days of Coach P. I am not sure it is fair to say that Coach P left the program bare. I truly believe the turning point was when Coach K could not sell her vision to Maddie K and Kyah W. Let’s not forget we would have had two players that started on power 5 teams that made the tournament. If you combine that with Grace and Mazurek and Peplowski you are looking at a very competitive team. Losing those two kids was the start of the decline. Next part of the decline was that there has been zero player development over the past two years. Player development needs to occur at the mid major level. The good news is I think Coach E will sell a vision and develop players. We will make our way back but it will take time. We paid a huge price of hiring a coach with zero experience and very little vision. The gamble did not pay off and now we need to rebuild

Cossette tore her ACL in high school a couple years ago. Are you saying she did it again? Yeah, that's the question with Coons. I think she's 15 months out. Cossette’s tear is a new tear. Not sure if it is contralateral knee or not. This team has turned into Team ACL. Wow. I know it's not just USD, the team up north has had plenty of experience with this too.

I don't think Karius had a chance at retaining them. Peplowski was graduating.

Lamb definitely played as a freshman and showed that she was a hooper, but she didn't start until her sophomore year and didn't average double figures scoring until her junior year. She had to pay her dues and learn from Arens, Trimboli, McKeever, etc. I remember Lamb hitting a game winning shot in the WNIT against Michigan State her freshman year. That was one of the most wire to wire intense games I've ever witnessed the Woman's team play here.

No Peplowaki had a Senior season and also another season. She tore her acl and then decided not o play another year at USD but follow her acaademics. I have talked with both Maddie and Kyah and both acknowledgesd that Coach P did not communicate with them until they entered the portal. Facts are facts. They both claimed to love USD but did not trust the future and where the program was heading. Hard to blame Coach P for them leaving.

[quote Coach P kind-of lucked into Sjerven, in that: Sjerven actually sought HER out, on the advice of someone... don't remember if it was an AAU coach or something like that. (please correct me) Anyway, Coach P already had a reputation of past achievements and industry contacts, so that paid dividends for her in the case of Sjerven, anyway.
Actually, it was Hannah’s coach at New Mexico, who contacted Coach P, and said, and I am only slightly paraphrasing, “I have a player that I can’t use, she’s not talented enough for my team. Maybe you can find something to do with her.”

Well, I hope Mr. Bradbury was able to watch Hannah help shut down future WNBA players Shakira Austin and NaLyssa Smith in the big dance while his talented team played in the WNIT in 2022.

Fun seeing all that talent on the floor and the way they complimented each other. Realistic question: Is there anyone on this roster now other than possibly Larkins who would see any significant playing time on that team?

I'm not sure Larkins would have played on that team. Duffy, Arens, McKeever, Lamb, Trimboli, Bradley ... whose perimeter minutes she taking and why?

Basketball is a beautiful game when you've got kids that can shoot, drive and pass ... oh, and all six played a little D, too.

My guess is we are probably undervaluing how good Grace really is. Grace was able to play some extremely valuable minutes in a sweet 16 game and played very well. Her role would be different but she is an extremely talented kid and would find a way to play. Hard to believe you consider Bradley a great defender. That is almost comical. Secondly Chloe and Ciara both developed into very good defenders but surely did not begin their careers as good defenders. It takes time, hard work, strength and good coaching. That was a fun team but I think Grace would find minutes.
