Everyone needs to remember too that in the ND game Adam Broders (because of a broken arm) didn't play and Marcus Sims was hurt at the start of the game and yet the Yotes scored 37 points on a defense that had been only giving up less than 19 points per game. Two of their scores were directly a result of fumbles--one for a touchdown from 19 yards and the other at the 20 yard line at the end. So given all the game factors coaching always has importance but in this game it was over shadowed by these two other critical factors. Certainly a complete evaluation of all coaches should be done as at the end of each season--win or lose!

Huh, the team seemed to be doing fine without those two until the fourth quarter...all of a sudden those two mattered for one quarter?

I was watching the Bison/'Necks game and checking out the UND/USD game also on TV. Coyotes were ahead 37-17 and I thought the game was over for sure.....turned back and all of a sudden it was 38-37...WTF!!! Bad loss....period!

That's what it should have been. und was not the better team and neither was cal poly.

Obviously #1 with Broders the defense would have been better and with Sims better ball control/clock management at the end of the game!!

Seriously guys, you keep saying those same things year after year about multiple teams but for some reason you keep losing to those teams. USD has alot of talent at the skill positions but no more than the teams you were playing. Poly had alot of playmakers and so did SUU. You probably have more than UND though.

Obviously #1 with Broders the defense would have been better and with Sims better ball control/clock management at the end of the game!! That's the second time I have seen this. You do realize that they were not in the game for the first three quarters, right? How did USD manage to play so well without them for three quarters ... They are not the excuse here even though Broders is a BEAST and Sims had a good year.

USD had everything any coach could want from a player personel standpoint. It takes some pretty bad coaching to not be able to win those games against UND and Cal Poly, especially the UND game.

USD did have more talent this year. This USD team is basically the same one that beat the Gophers last year. I doubt the UND team this year could have beaten the Gophers in their house. The right coach will be found. If he has the philosophy of play good defense and have a balanced offense then USD will be fine in the Valley.

I'm a Fighting Sioux fan and not trying to troll, but need to comment on today's game: South Dakota leaving the field without shaking hands was as classless a move as I have ever seen - really I know that you are disappointed, but come on Hosing us on the conference was one thing, but this really is pathetic Grow up SD Kind of reminds you when the UND women team ran off the court in Vermillion after not shaking hands when USD beat them for the conference title. Or was that when Ashley Langdon intentially fouled Hoffman at the end of the game and pulled her back by her jersey as hard as she could ... or when she also called the fans classless for booing when they ran off the court without shaking hands ... Yes, it was not good that the USD football team did that, but UND perfected that move. Not defending what appears to a lack of class on UND's part - wasn't aware of it However - word on the street at UND is that South Dakota did significant damage to the locker room after the game - enough so the Alerus Center is sending UND a bill, which I expect will be forwarded -
