Damn CF, seems a little harsh. Not that good this year? Time for AJ to move on? The lofty projections for state this year was when they had the best player in the conference on their team. When she got hurt the outlook changed. They finished a game out of first and 2nd round of nit. Maybe not what they were hoping for but it wasn't terrible. I wish AJ would move on, he's a good coach. I think both USD and state will be better next year. I just think Karma has a way of playing out. They were counting their chickens way before they hatched. I just don't believe before the season started that you should be talking about and almost assuming a sweet sixteen birth, and even when the WNIT started some of them were almost assuming a deep run. I think they read their own press clipping a little too much this year. I think complacency can set in and maybe they didn't work as hard in the off season because of it. If they looked at themselves as underdogs or maybe under appreciated then that might drive them harder. I think next year will be an even net gain vs net loss. They gain Miller but lose Young and Ober. Western Illinois deserves to be favored next year. We gain Miller, Larson, former starter Chyna Stevens and Myah Selland. We will be fine, I expect SDSU and WIU, plus USD will be the conference favorites at the start of the season. If USD can replace your center you will be good again, very good. The Summit is no longer a bad women's conference. Now we need NDSU to step it up and we could have 5 teams at or in the top 100. UNI got an at large (10 seed) this year. SDSU pounded them (at one point it was a 30 pt spread in the 3rd before AJ took his foot off the gas) at their place when we still had Miller. The Summit can get two teams into the NCAA if the conference continues the upward trajectory. And fans can talk all they want, it has no affect on teams, or "karma". If you think SDSU, or USD players and coaches read your post or anyone else's posts... well that's just sad. AJ moving on? He may have his best recruiting class (including two transfers) ever coming in next season. We struggled without Miller at point. Alexander is a good point guard but not a scorer. Teams were able to pack the middle on Ober, focus on Guebert. With Miller back at point, and Selland on the other side of Guebert that won't happen next season. Oh, we will be tall and athletic, very tall and athletic next season. We will likely start 6'0', 6'2", 6'1", 6'0", 5'8. And all can run the floor and shoot the 3.

Exact same comments from a jacks fan as the last 3 years only I can replace all names with "SDSU PLAYER" and the next season with the last 3 calendar years.
You very well may be good next year with those players. But you are confirming what everyone is saying about SDSU fans. You are somehow always the favorite in your minds and a sweet 16 team. Only problem is it hasn't happened now going on 4 years. Most of your fans still think the rabbits were the best team over the past 3 seasons which they were not.

I am inclined to agree with jacksfan29, their team will be fine and they should be among the favorites with WIU and USD. If he would have stated that state alone should be favorite I'd be right there with you. I do have express some skepticism towards the 4 players that are the reason the team will be fine. Miller is recovering from a serious injury, Larson played a total of 10 minutes at Iowa two years ago, Stevens hasn't played the game in two years, and Selland is still in high school. There's definitely uncertainty there.

AJ has done a tremendous job and every coach in the P-5 schools knows how good their program is. I just wish the NCAA tourney committee started to recognize it! When SDSU makes the tourney (given their non-conference schedule and success) they should never be lower than a 6 seed. By definition, if you're a top 25 team you shouldn't be lower than 5, but let's assume they are just outside of the top 25...that puts them at 6. They were a circus shot away from beating Stanford at Stanford. If they win that, they beat Washington and they are in the Final Four! #Respect

Good job actually finding one, so respect on the amount of searching that must have taken place. Granted, it came from the Gameday post when we were actually playing Stanford, and you know, nearly beat them to go to the Sweet 16. And it's not like the fact we were returning all 5 starters made it unreasonable to think we had a shot to do so again. But this mentality that the general SDSU fan was arrogant enough to "guarantee" a Sweet 16 berth this year is just laughable and demonstrates how much certain USD posters suffer from a severe inferiority complex.
I must say, I was really hoping for another USD/SDSU game this season as it would have been fun to see who could take the rubber match. I think the general thought in Brookings was we would be the favorite over Colorado but knew it would be a close game. In the end a combination of them shooting well and us missing way too many easy shots did us in. The fact is the Buffs record wasn't very impressive, but considering prior to conference play they were ranked #15 should give an indicator that they are a good team. Considering they played in a conference that put 7 teams in the top 32 and 5 in the Sweet 16, a bad conference record certainly isn't an indicator of a bad team. Kudos to them for playing well and pulling out the win.

Asks for evidence that any fan had them as a guaranteed sweet 16 team this year, is given exactly that and just goes back to saying we are ridiculous for acknowledging the existence of said fans.
It's easy to brush them off when they're on your side. They're incredibly annoying for the rest of us.

So now that you have said you have called out said fans I will now require more proof than 1 post from SDSU fans to substantiate this. So search away and bring me proof of more than one.
How is it annoying to "the rest" of you when I don't believe this poster has ever posted anything on your board? So you are saying you troll certain boards, take the things one person says and then assign it to everyone else to fuel your delusion? Got it...
Heaven forbid a poster on a message board would make a grandiose claim and be wrong, that certainly never happens here I am sure... Luckily I know enough USD fans to know they aren't all like you and CF.

It may have been one specific post but it's a sentiment that isn't exclusive to that individual. Three years running the fanbase at large has crowned themselves only to have zero conference titles to show for it. No amount or magnitude of proof will be enough to satisfy you because you are willfully ignorant towards it. If I am representing the worst of the USD fanbase right now then that really depicts the Coyote faithful as one upstanding group. Your actions on the other hand...

Do I sense some backtracking from steelsd. He gets proven wrong and then changes course and if he gets proven wrong again he will just change course until he is right. That will be a lot of changing but everyone is right every now and then and a clock is just that twice a day. Why can't people just admit that Jacks fans were wrong this year and have been for the last 2 years before that. For USD and SDSU to basically be even this year for the years they had is a +1 for the Coyotes because they over came way more then what SDSU had to try to over come.

So some fan speculates on a message board, or in public that our WBB team is a sweet sixteen caliber program, whooped-dee-frickin-doo, we're fans it's what we do.

Would it be too early for the fan boards to have a preseason poll for 2017-18 conference order of finish?? We could then compare to the writers and coaches polls that come out in the Fall. I may even predict that 2 WBB teams from the Summit make the Big Dance. Meanwhile, I expect to find a high level optimism by October among all fan bases-including ORU-for 2017-18 basketball season.
