Would Peterson have to take a pay cut to come to USD? Small short term sacrifice for a long term gain. Have 4 good years in Verm then draw a million dollar salary elsewhere. It's an attractive job.

I'm sure our well connected individuals here already have an opinion of Peterson from his time in Vermillion. I have no idea what to think. I'm really looking forward to that press conference. I remember going to Smith's conference and walking out ready to hit the gym myself.
It's so hard to tell what to expect from someone who is coming in as an assistant. Everyone needs to be sold. Me, you, recruits, alumni, donors, sponsors, etc. We get to see what Peterson is all about tomorrow.

I like that he’s been a HC and high level assistant.

The Who’s who of players from the Craig Smith era giving their approval on social media. Like others have said, I do hope we can keep Casey. He played 2 years under Coach Pete so would think there’s a relationship there. Interested to hear what he has to say, and I am excited for the future.

Just from the short intro video he already seems more approachable and engaging than Lee ever was. I'm excited for the future of Coyote hoops.
For those wondering if AJ approves of the hire...here is what his mom tweeted. That might tell us something:

An outsider's view, looks like a good hire. As stated, HC experience, even AD experience, high level assistant, and seems that he was involved in both recruiting and developing an NBA player at Utah State. And he's familiar with USD and Vermillion community.
I have a lot of confidence in the AD, he really hasn't had a bad hire for head coaches, in my opinion. Also, firing a COY, and moving on is not as easy as it may appear. We are fortunate we have good leadership in that position.
Looking forward to hear from Coach Pete, and watching his early steps in running the program.
Let's Go Yotes!

All of the three head coaches that work out of the SCSC are now from Wisconsin...covered by Midco's Jay Elsen (also from Wisconsin)... black helicopter time.
