Sorry to hear the news on Holmes. It's understandable and we all wish her the best. But for next year, this does open up a spot for a younger player like we've discussed. But if they go back to the portal maybe that's an indication they don't believe that one of the younger players can fill that role. I'm guessing they don't go to the portal again, and that Monahan was recruited with the Holmes news in mind. But we shall see. Yeah, if we are needing a sniper SG on the roster to take pressure off of Grace, look no further than Klosterbuer. No idea what the rest of her game looks like, but she was a Class 2A POY in Iowa... so she is probably more than just a scoring threat. Really, all three of AK, O Kieffer and A Broughton were very high-scoring players in High School. If not for the injuries I'd bet we would have seen a good deal of all three this last season. OK played quite a bit as a back-up PG. Maybe we will see them save the extra scholarship for a future class, or use it in the portal to fill a different need, like depth at Post, or another "true" PG.

Bostyn Holt to the portal per Verbal Commits I was really hoping he would stay. He's technically a grad transfer, isn't he? Grad transfers still use the portal. The only difference, AFAIK is that they can enter the portal at any time (but still has to be by May 1 deadline for the following year). So portal and Grad Transfers are essentially the same now, I think.

A setter in the 2025 class followed by Runde: (AVH will be our only Setter on the roster in the 2025 Fall season) Billie Reiter 5-11 SetterGreendale HS, WI (Milwaukee) Milwaukee Sting twitter.com/ReiterBillieIn August she was listed as Prep Dig's #5 player in Wisconsin/ #1 Setter. (now she is lower on the list, but I can only see the top 5) Likely one of the highest-ranked Wisconsin players still not committed in this class

Am I crazy or is this year especially insane for transfers? Maybe it's just that our season was disappointing, so we are more affected this time around.
Hard to get excited for players who only stick around for one season. SMH

St Louis beat Minnesota yesterday for the WNIT title at the SIUE campus stadium (Edwardsville, IL is part of the St Louis Metro area). 69-50 The attendance was just 1545, which is more than St Louis's average draw of 1376, but still disappointing for a championship game. For context, St Louis had not hosted a single game in the tournament up to this point, so I'm sure it is hard to build momentum in the fan base that way. At least the venue was smaller (4,000) so it didn't look so empty:
