My ideal scenario is for a split between the publics and privates in the MVC, leading to a scenario where UNI, Illinois State, Indiana State, Missouri State, and Southern Illinois agree to come to the table with the Dakotas and create a new all sports conference. Backup is the Big Sky. Worst case is sitting in the Summit while it subsists on undesirable WAC teams. I'd say there's about zero chances of the Il ST people agreeing to that I can't speak for the rest of those fan bases.

I dunno. Dude has been interviewing for jobs like crazy the last couple years. Is that the guy you really want? Absolutely. This is th nature of the beast in mid-major basketball. Would you rather have a coach who sucks and yet the school is to poor to bring in someone who can actually coach. I would rather lose a coach because they got another job because that means they were successful than looking for a new coach because you've had 4 awful years and you fired the coach I just hope they don't get Macomb and WIU grad Matt Margenthaler.

Hahaha. Spoken like a true ignorant bunny fan thinking they are Butler or VCU. Isn't every coach. Problem is that's very unlikely. I can't even think of anyone that moved from a small school with little to no national notoriety directly to a power 5 school. It just doesn't happen.
HaHaHa, spoken like a truly ignorant USD fan. Always thinking small. I hate to tell you this, because it will confuse your small mind, if TJ takes SDSU to 3 straight, or with the talent coming in and returning after Daum leaves 4 or 5 straight NCAA appearances, with his connections and recruiting reputation he will not be taking a average mid-major job like CSU. Bank on it. By the way, a list of coaches at schools viewed much the same as SDSU and where those coaches are today, after not taking a middling mid-major job. Bryce Drew, Valparaiso to Vanderbilt Chris Beard, Ark Little Rock to Texas Tech Jerod Haase, UAB to Sanford Steve Pikiell, Stony Brook to Rutgers Brad Underwood, Stephen F Austin to Oklahoma State You may not like it, but nationally SDSU is a much bigger name in basketball then USD. Thirteen NCAA appearances for our Women's and Men's programs, in 10 years of eligibility will do that for your schools reputation. Underwood doesn't coach Oklahoma St anymore I will say if I was an AD I would take TJ before Smith.

Southern Illinois - 4-7, 2-6 in Conference in 2017 Graduate: 14 Seniors: 4 Offensive Starters, 3 Defensive Starters, 1 Special Team Starters & 4 others on the depth chart last fall All-Conference Losses- 2nd team 1 OL, Honorable Mention - 1 FB, All-Conference Returning Players - 1st team - P, 2nd team - 1 DB Honorable Mention - 1 KR, 1 WR All-Newcomer Team: 1 WR (Jr), 1 DL 19 Seniors next year 6 top 40 MVFC Recruits according to HERO 26 total recruits including 6 college or JC transfers including transfers from Wisconsin, Oklahoma St., Iowa, Missouri, & Minnesota SIU is a team looking to move out of the bottom of the MVFC. The six transfers from other colleges let you know they are looking for some immediate impact players to join their young team. The recruiting class has been rated better than us. On offense, they return a quality senior QB and WR, but they still need to improve their running game. On Defense, they finished near the bottom of the league and they lose their top two tacklers, so they will still struggle to stop good teams. I would look for them to be much better than the team we saw in Vermillion last fall. We see them on the road week 4 to open the MVFC schedule. Don't fall asleep on this team or they can ruin your season. I am predicting a 5-6 season I personally see them at 7-4 and a playoff team they would have been a borderline playoff team had Straub not went down.

Please don't make WIU go to the tournament there isn't a worse coach in the country I promise. What the heck happened against Denver tonight. That was a debacle. Denver is good but did WIU not even show up for the game. I am not looking forward to the possibility of playing the Pioneers in the 2nd round if both teams get there. A lot of it was guys who don't get much time seeing the floor Rosga looked like a freaking All american it was a amazing watching Denver run an offense WIU fans don't jnow what that looks like.

I think the lack of depth has really killed WIU we already lacked in that area then losing are top bench player for the season right before the Stanford game hasn't helped.

I just hope they hire a new coach quickly they have a few in house candidates who most WIU fans I think would be pleased with in fact its rumored that our Co Offensive coordinator interviewed for the Tennessee Tech job in Doug Malone.

to me that is a question that can't be answered correctly if streveler goes out and gets hurt this week or next people will say Simmons should have played and if you play Simmons and lose both games people will say Streveler should have played. I think it depends on what you think the realistic chances of winning the the last 2 are and how big of home field advantage you think that you have in the playoffs. It's also important to remember the bison are beat up as well you have to take that into consideration as well.
