WIU finally wins in an amazing come back in the house of horror at SIU WIU was down 31-14 after 3 WIU had not won there since 2000. They are saying tonight on Bison 1660 WIU is in the playoffs as 1 of 4 from the Valley including NDSU, SDSU and UNI. We still need to win out and it won't be easy with you next week and INSU the last week

I think we could be the surprise in the summit this year we got the Defensive player or the year probably the second best freshman from last year and another sophomore who really came on late in the year. Shooting and depth of the bigs could be our biggest problem.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see anyway we finish 3rd we lost everything AKA Emily Clemens. Higginbotham is the only returning starter. Denver should for sure be ahead and probably ORU. On a side note isn't Guebert in like her 12 year for the Jacks.

MVFC Power Poll Feel free to provide your own, rip this one apart, completely ignore, etc. Could be fun to see how this changes as the season goes along, as it really does look like the MVFC is down a bit. 1. NDSU – beat a bad team at home, but needed a gimmicky ‘all the lights turned off in the Fargo Mall’ play to make it happen 2. SIU – blew out a FCS team on the road 3. ISUr – meh, D2 win 4. USD – some good, some not good, but took P5 to the last play 5. SDSU – no game, so stuck in the middle, but the 4 minutes that were played were not encouraging 6. ISUb – give some love to ISUb for a blowout win! But don’t expect this lofty ranking for long… 7. UNI – a tale of two halves, but an L against a team with a new coach doesn’t bode well 8. WIU – looked OK first half, quite bad 2nd half 9. MSU – didn’t show up for OK St. 10. YSU – I am embarrassed for you YSU fans. Oof. Not bad, but I would question #3. Is St Xavier even D2? I thought it was a high school out of Chicago. Can't believe they even scheduled that game. Since we don't even play ISUr, what if we were to end up with the same record with them having that win and us a loss to KState? I would certainly hope we'd get a playoff bid over them, but as of now, they're ranked much higher in virtually every poll. There an NAIA

I have it as #1 NDSU any idiot could get that one right. #2 UNI not sure why they aren't getting more respect. #3 USd As long as Simmons is solid I don't think they'll fall off as much as some #4 SDSU this is where it becomes hard for me I think that there highly overrated #5 SIU I've been high on them all off season even with my distaste for them. #6 WIU I don't think we will be as bad as some think as long as the OLine holds up. I think even with the loss of Taylor the defense will be better. #7 ISU I'm not sold on the deadbirds I don't understand the love. #8 YSU Basically the same as ISU #9 MSU Still MSU #10 INSU should win week 1 after that not a whole lot to be confident in. Thanks for chipping in; always nice to hear a non troll's perspective on things. You really think your defense is going to be better without Taylor? I realize that d lineman you have might be the best defensive player in the league, but Taylor was pretty much a superstud. That guy was everywhere. NDSU as the top pick is obvious to me too, but two through seven should really be a dogfight, a lot of games that will be decided by the thinnest of margins. I'm just not buying into YSU. There's been too much reliance on transfers with issues and poor high school recruiting. It's got to catch up with them sometime, although they'll probably be good enough to mess up some team's season. Yes I truly do believe the defense could be better obviously Brett was a stud but we really didn't lose anything along the D-Line it could be the deepest one that we've had in a long time. Outside of Taylor we bring back most of our production in the LB group Moon could really up his game and he was really solid last year. The DB position has the most of the turnover on defense but I think that there are a lot of really solid players back there. I'm more concerned about the O-Line than anything I think there is some talent there but we are very young. We didn't play YSU the last 2 season so I really didn't see much of them last year but it's just an opinion.

Bob Nielson sure is an entertaining interview! Lots of jokes - funny dude. Definitely tune in to the end of the interview where he reveals some touching personal details, and there is a tense moment where he is offended by the questions and walks out for a minute. I thought he was going to punch you! .... Just Kidding. Bland as ever. Who cares as long as we are winning games? You had me there for a minute I was like wait I gotta see this.

To me personally there is nothing more overrated than hearing the argument that a guy has never been a head coach before honestly many time's the assistant coaches are just as much involved as the head coaches when it comes to recruiting and planning for opponents.

I guess I'm missing something on Idaho St outside of a number and being a state school I don't see what they bring to a conference.
