Way to go Chris! Another National Championship and a national meet record at 19' 6 1/4" to boot. Coach Miles, Chris and the rest of the USD pole vault crew are definitely something special. Go Yotes!

Does anyone know if there are on-line viewing options available to watch the NCAA T&F finals?

Saw on the goyotes.com press releases that Chris Nilsen was honored as the Drake Relays Most Outstanding Performer for the men. Chris had the highest vault in the world this year at 19'2.25" until freshman Mondo Duplantis from LSU hit 19'5.75" and fell just short of hitting his personal best of 19'10.25" which resulted in a European title last summer. Would love to see Chris and Mondo dual in Eugene. Two very special talents at the top of their sport at the same time.

Coyote men worked their way back from 4th place to a tie for 2nd place yesterday in the Summit League men's golf championships. They played the final two rounds yesterday due to weather issues. Tommy Vining concluded his senior season with two great rounds of golf. Congrats Tommy and thanks for all your contributions to the Coyote golf team.
I checked the Showdown Series "cup of corn" standings and because we tied sdsu yesterday, the current standings will remain 9-7 in favor of the bunnies. Should be interesting to see how softball and men's and women's track shakes out in the next few weeks.

Actually, I read your post then googled WNBA draft and saw Rounds 1, 2, and 3 were done and that the 3rd round concluded with some gal named Maci. You should have seen me sweating. I looked like a Jackrabbit during finals week.
edit: Also my original post was not meant as any slight to Macy Miller as I think she is a star.

Should also note I was kind of hoping for a Yote/Jackrabbit WNBA pairing in Dallas in the same vein as Goddert and Wentz, but not to be. That would have been pretty neat.

Macy Miller is drafted. Congrats to her. That’s a really good indicator of the strength of the two SD women’s basketball programs. It’s a big deal Agree it is a big deal. My post was to point out that Macy Miller did not go last picked in the 3rd round as steeled noted. It was a player by the same name, different spelling, from Kentucky.

Macy goes with the last pick to Seattle. You mean Maci, as in Maci Morris from Kentucky. =)

Never thought I would hear The University of South Dakota mentioned during an overtime of the men's championship game. Brokaw and POB even got a mention. And, most importantly, it was noted that Matt Mooney is a graduate of USD. Cool stuff.

Heard at work today the Argus had an article noting the Krueger kid from State asked for his release. Mea culpa if already noted.
edit: my Latin teachers would never forgive me writing mia instead of mea. My apologies to Mr. Mickelson and Prof. Sebesta.

Exactly gopheryote. I'm sure lots of guys look at what Mooney has accomplished this year and are enticed by the "what ifs" of replicating a similar outcome elsewhere. Deng was good. I wish him the best, but am happy to see him Geu. I mean go.

I caught the game yesterday and had a few thoughts.
First, I hope Maddie's sister can shoot it as good as she does. Definitely not going to miss her and Macy next year. Stars.
Second, that out of bounds call late in the 4th that went Syracuse's way was bad. When the announcers noted the refs "must have seen something we didn't" it was just plain mind numbing. Myah was clearly out of bounds and the ball hit the floor before it hit her. The fact that it delayed the game as long as it did, only to get the wrong result was and remains inexcusable. There has been far too many stoppages and delays due to replay which has led to poor officiating. Make a decision. I can't help but feel like some of these officials simply enjoy the spotlight. I know the lady who officiated the Yotes/Rabbits women's at the Summit Tournament sure enjoyed showing everyone how flexible she was with her obnoxious leg swings at the scorers table right before tip off. It definitely generated a few laughs and eye rolls in my section from red and blue fans.
Third, as much as it hurts me to say, Oregon better be ready because this team has the ability to beat them if things are clicking.
Fourth, Dear Big 10 and Big 12, there is a pretty decent women's coach up the road from us that could use a nicer house and a bigger paycheck. Wisconsin has a nice ring to it. 11-20 in 2014-2015; 7-22 in 2015-2016; 9-22 in 2016-2017; 9-21 in 2017-2018; and 15-18 this year. =)
