WE ARE HOSTING.
We play Central Michigan on Thursday at 7 pm. If we win, we get the winner of UNLV and UMKC the next day at 2

Our record was outstanding and the girls did all they could do. They beat every team they played except Iowa State. Losing to UNO in the SLT sucked but just goes to show you have to finish the deal. That isn’t a criticism by the way, simply a fact. Iowa State got in, but there isn’t a team we played and beat ( except Denver ) that’s in the tournament. Strength of schedule had to play a role.
Again I repeat what I said years ago in the WNIT basketball tourney. I personally feel playing 5 matches and winning that tournament is far more valuable and rewarding than playing Stanford or Nebraska or Wisconsin or Minnesota in round 1 then likely going home.
If we get the host bid I hope we put a lot of butts in the seats in the SCSC supporting them just like we did basketball years ago. Iowa State won this tournament last year and hosted all 5 matches Let’s do this

Should be out in 2 hours or less. Going through host bids and travel pairings.

It’s very disappointing for the girls, I get it. But the flip side is they will play in the NIVC tournament. There are 32 teams in the field. I will be curious if we will send in a host bid. My hope is that we do and they get to play in front of the hone crowd a few more times.
By comparison, I always felt the WNIT tournament was the impetus that jettisoned our women’s basketball program to the next level. I have to believe that we will have one of the highest RPI’s which means we could play up to 5 more matches and a chance to win a championship.
Regardless of how it plays out, I want to thank our team for such a great year. You were simply AWESOME

I honestly don’t remember the brown jug in my era. Then it again it never would’ve left Vermillion. 🤷♂️

A question for those peeps that know basketball stuff. Was our performance because we played poorly or Missouri State took it to us, or a combination? To me that just loves basketball, I thought two things dictated the outcome, but could be totally wrong. First, their point guard was quick and fast. Advantage them. Secondly, I thought they pushed us around fairly well and that disrupted our shooting?
Help me here. I’m not good at analyzing the round ball.
I’ll say this. I love our team. No quit...all grit. Win or lose. And classy as heck

This is a HUGE game in terms of possible at large berth or seeding come NCAA tournament time. This team is very deserving of our support. Not only are they a really good basketball team, they are the classiest bunch of ladies you’ll ever see as a group. If it’s possible for you to make the game tonight I know they’d appreciate it. It would be a feather in their cap to knock off a Top 25 team. Last year we beat Iowa State in a similar point on our schedule.
Good luck ladies!!!!!!

All I’m hearing is how they were the better team and it’s a disgrace to lose to USD in anything. The past two times we played them in the Dome I always felt like we were the better team but found a way to lose. So I went back and did a comparison and this is how it plays out:
2019 2017. 2015. AVERAGE
CATEGORY. SDSU USD. SDSU. USD. SDSU. USD. SDSU. USD
Total Yards. 498. 369. 386. 583. 374. 438. 419. 463 Penalties. 6-57. 5-33. 7-52. 7-82. 4-50. 5-55. 5.67-53. 5.33-56.67 Turnovers. 4. 1. 1. 2. 1. 2. 2. 1.67 Time of possession. 33:25. 26:35. 31:51. 28:09. 25:29. 34:31. 30.02. 29.58
That’s about as even as it gets. In Brookings it didn’t look like this, but to those that say this was a fluke and they dominate, I simply say.....BULLSHIT
And lastly, I never want to hear one of their fans say our fan base is pathetic ever again. Any fan that tweets and attacks a player in social media is a low life fan with ZERO touch of reality. It’s just a game played by young adults. Accept the fact you got beat.
