Thanks for the help with the articles guys. I'm not so clever when it comes to that stuff.
I too have heard the rumors about alternate uniforms, and I think yesterdays video confirmed them. I really hope they are the chromed out helmets and jerseys like I have been hearing. I guess I'm just a sucker for alternate uniforms.
But like everything else during DDays..... if we don't show up to play, it all means nothing.
That being said, I think this game is ripe for the pickin' and like our chances. Here's why
1) UNI just lost on the road to a team that, IMO, they should have beaten. Going on the road back to back weeks in the conference is never easy.
2) It's D-Daze!Coyote fans will be out in full force, even the students for a half or so. It will be loud.
3) Kevin Earl is back at the helm. Glad we didn't rush him back. Seems like he is mostly healed up and ready to play.
4) Our boys are pretty darn excited for this one. They should be. It's homecoming. Just watch, the coyotes will run out of that tunnel on Saturday with those shiny new (hopefully) jerseys and have a different kind of confidence than we have seen from them so far this season.
Might have gotten talked into being in the parade downtown Saturday morning, would really cut into my tailgating time.....
Regardless, I will be there in plenty of time to tip a few back.

Am I the only one who thinks the money spent on alternate uniforms could have been better utilized? It's not like our athletic dept is flush with cash.

My understanding is that this was a separate fundraiser done by Luke that approached donors to specifically fund the project. 57 k was raised that wasn't part of the athletic budget.

Hypothetical question for anyone that cares to participate:
If the team was sitting on a pile of cash, how would you like to see it utilized? For the sake of simplicity, let's assume the money is only to be used for football.

If we have extra funds, I would like to see USD pay coaches more so they stick around. Last time I saw the figures, our coach's salaries were seriously lacking compared to the other schools in the Valley.

 In my opinion, these looks sweet and recruits will eat them up. The alternate uniforms aren't really for the fans. They are for the players and recruits. It is the thing to do in this day and age. |

If anyone else is interested in the "If we had money" thread maybe the admin can move it to a different location.
On the same note, haven't gotten nearly the amount of analysis for this game as we have in past weeks.

I am usually not a fan of alternate uniforms (especially Oregon). There are some exceptions and cool ones out there. I like these helmets, and agree it may help with recruiting. I like the black facemask. Are there alt uniforms as well?

The way I look at it, this is all apart of taking the plunge into Valley football. Can't wait to see them in person!
