Congradulations to the Yotes on perhaps the biggest win in the D1 era and definately in the Joe Glenn era. I have been having some family misfortunes that made the game today just not that important in comparison to life in general. I am a compartmentalizer so those things don't effect my opinion of football but can keep the game in perspective.
I did not listen to or watch the game in any form today. It's not fair that I comment on what happened today alone but the stars must have aligned in a very wierd way for this upset to happen. I think it is fair to say that NDSU had at least a 95% chance to win this game. Did USD play great, Did NDSU play no so great or what was the formula? I am gonna need some help with that one since I don't know.
There is a good chance that USD can now be 2-2 after the Missouri State game. I didn't think that 2-2 would have included a win in Fargo of all places. The Bison look like they might have to be road warriors this year in the playoffs if they are to be 5 time champions. There must be alot of MVFC fans that are very greatfull for what the Yotes did in knocking the Bison off their pedestal.
I would love to just assume that the Coyotes will build off this thing and finish out strong like they should after a win like this but the last 2 big wins at Minnesota and at UNI did not spring the Yotes on to bigger and better things after those upsets happened. Is this NDSU win the start of something big or just an isolated game that was just a rare upset that can sometimes happen in the sports world. Whatever happens there is a clear path to a 3-5 conference season by getting wins vs MSU and vs SIU. I actually hope the Coyotes don't over celebrate this one and realize that there is alot of work still to be done.
How the Coyotes react to this win will be as important as the win itself.

I don't care if you're not on the Joe Glenn bandwagon. usd... somehow... beat ndsu... celebrate! Who knows how long it will be until usd pulls out another mvc victory. Somebody give this Eeyore a hug

I could be accused of being a buzz kill too. I'm happy, just tempering my euphoria. Maybe I'm getting greedy and want more. I don't think so. This is one win, a great win, but if we want to be taken seriously in this conference we have to do this week in, week out. That's what I want, for this not to be a "fluke", for this to be the norm.

Great win today and I am very proud of the boys. They went in and earned that victory today. The glory is all theirs. Now to our fans, I understand the excitement. I get it. We haven't had something to cheer for like this since the win over UNI a few years ago, even that was muted because we expected to win some games that season. Maybe beating #1 EWU to start the season a few years back is a better comparison. We need to check it a little though. We won, but this over the top enthusiasm for a conference win is the stuff of loser programs. I envision Iowa State fans rushing the field after a win over Okie State, or a "So Proud" speech. Act like we've been there. I'm happy for the win but I expect more wins. I have very mixed emotions here. Great win, great effort. Where has this been? Where was this on D-Days, or last week? So today is the day we rise up, that's awesome. I'm glad we finally learned. Now I expect that effort each and every week. Maybe tomorrow but not tonight. Tonight we relish the win . Maybe so but tonight I'm going to party like its 1999

Congrats on the W today Yotes!
I'll admit, I switched over from the rabbit game to catch the last few minutes of your game to see if you were actually going to pull it off.
Love Glenn's candor, and loved what he had to say during the MVFC teleconference a few days ago. Very fitting you went up there and got it done I thought.

I am just getting home from the wedding I attended earlier today and have not had a chance to read the last dozen pages of this discussion..but holy crap what a win for USD! I could not believe the concept of a Yote victory today when the text messages started rolling in regarding this game but damn am I proud of our team. If this doesn't get things rolling for the team nothing will. Time to right the ship and make a push towards a winning record in the MVFC!

It's not my intention to be a buzzkill as I simply try to be a realist. This was obviously a huge win but where was todays team over the last couple of weeks and will this same team show up like this for the rest of the year. It's so hard to figure how the team will play from week to week. Who knows at this point what the future will bring. NDSU has kind of been in a two week funk now so the Yotes definately caught them at the right time. I guess it's about time that they caught them at the right time because the last time that happened in Fargo was 1978.

Decided to end this wondrous day by spending some time in the glorious world of BisonVille.com. This was after delving through a bunch of Bison BS on AGS. I just read a 20 page thread on post game thoughts from the all knowing Fargo bunch. Talk about Fargone! Virtually no credit to the Yotes. Everything was about how terrible State college played and how they are just not a championship quality team anymore. To make it even worse it is just filled with all kinds of sore loser vulgarity with one F-bomb after another. Talk about staying classy. Feel free to go FBS big shots. You will have a lot of fun winning two or three games a year. TDD will look great with about 5 or 6 thousand jokers in it. Good riddance as far as I am concerned.
Keep on going now South Dakota!
Thanks for the Mushroom cloud!

Yoteforever you were also 100% certain that the Yotes were better this year. How is that looking now. As far as the 80% part. Nothing is ever guaranteed. Maybe no matter who the coach is USD will not win period but I think that is doubtful. Yoteforever face it, you are the biggest red cool-aid drinker on this board. Despite nothing tangible changing in the off season you still bought into that idea that somehow this was a changed football team. I still wonder why you thought or think that. You let your heart and emotions get too close to the program and your judgement of the facts gets skewed because of it. You can be as great of a football fan as they come but that doesn't mean you have a good idea of the pulse of the program. I would have to say that at least two-thirds of the people on this board disagreed that Glenn should be fired after last season. The other third would refuse to admit it in fear that they would be ridiculed or be considered an outsider or a non fan somehow. Well now we are at least 1 year behind the curve in improving the program. There were nada signs that the program was improving at the end of last year. A blind eye was turned to the problems and nothing was done despite objective knowledge that a change needed to be made. People too close to the program are in love with Joe's personality despite shortcomings in coaching. That probably led to him being given at least one year too many. A coach should be judged on job performance not how well he can recite the school song. Didn't realize this years season was over already. By God, I don't think it is. Everyone has gone to bed but me. I'm still jacked up. What a great freakin day

I am savoring every minute of this till at least mid-night PDT. The season is just beginning with a new life the Yotes have not seen for several years. Take care of business with MSU in The Danger Dome and then get on to UNI. They are not unbeatable by any means. Not a time to lay any eggs now Coyotes. Today may go down in history as a serious turning point for the USD football program. Or it may not. The confidence to compete week in and week out should be there now. Just keep it rolling Coyotes. The Nation is behind you and I can't wait to see The Yote Train filled up again. Some of us never got off.

Watched my DVR for the UNI WIU game after the USD post game show. Made me blow a bunch of cherry coke out of my nose watching the precious Panther homecoming get ruined. They are right up there with NDSC as far as teams I love to see lose.
What a great day!

Then I hope I am gonna celebrate for another week straight. Let's have some fun. It's not like we have not been waiting for it right?
I'm shot!

The Yotes have had 4 MVFC wins so far in their 4th year but who would figure that two of them would be at UNI and at NDSU. It sure seems that when the Yotes show up for a game they REALLY show up. Isn't it amazing how many streaks came to an end with this win. The Yotes conference losing streak, the Yotes double digit conference losing streak, the Coyotes drought in Fargo and NDSU's long home field winning streak. There may be more but wow all that ending in one fell swoop. The Yotes shocked the FCS world on Saturday. Now how will both teams react in the coming weeks to the happenings of this game. Just think if the Coyotes win out they are almost certainly in the playoffs, LOL :-) Before the Bison game the chances of that happening would probably be somewhat close to 1 in 50,000. Those odds are probably now closer to 1 in 5,000.
