But for the apparent injury to Wentz, I would still pick NDSU. You can do a lot of things in the playoffs with an NFL caliber QB.

Been savoring this one for a few days now. As someone with an affinity for all things USD, I was about a half wreck after watching the highlight video the first time...and the 4th time and the 5th. In my post leading up to the game I only asked for a touchdown when it mattered and for small signs of improvement instead of trying to eat the elephant in one bite. As the game wore on, those small signs were there and those small bites were too, and they kept getting bigger until pretty soon the Yotes were the team we all knew and hoped they would be this year. Couldn't be happier for the players and the coaches. It was a fantastic day to be a Coyote. To close, I also watched the short 2 minute video clip included on page 17 of the thread. Go back and watch around the 1:15 mark to see something very classy. Based on my experiences watching Coyote football in the Fargodome, it is the classiest thing I have ever seen in that place. A Bison fan with a #2 on his jersey gets up and gives our players a standing ovation while they sing the fight song to our fans seated behind him. It is worth watching because you can see he is extremely genuine and sincere about this gesture. How many of us have let our team's success dictate our happiness for a day (guilty as charged) or a weekend and let emotions trump that level of common decency and respect? We're blessed and every sports fan could take a lesson from that guy. Including this fan. Thanks #2 and thanks again Yotes!

yotefan your post is right on the mark both on the Coyotes effort and the respect given to the Yotes by the #2 Bison fan. Thanks for pointing that out I hadn't noticed that before.

All of the Bison fans sitting around me were great. They cheered like crazy when we were on offense and were quiet as church mice when the Bison had the ball. After it was over several offered their congratulations. They were exactly what we need to be. I hope this game turns into a legitimate rivalry

Keep beating NDSU and you bet they'll circle our names on their schedule.

Reminds me of a funny quote from Coach Glenn during the radio show this week, paraphrasing a bit so bear with me. Referring to NDSU, "I guess they're our rivals now, huh? We've heard that enough, right? I mean, you have to beat your rivals every once in a while, though."
Classic line, I laughed so hard. Before Jacks fans get their undies in a bunch there was a lot of self-depricating humor in there. Obviously, Joe was referring to how SDSU claims that NDSU is their big rival now and USD is of lesser importance, which is we all know is BS. The first jab was at how SDSU can't beat NDSU, so how can they be rivals? The second jab, which was self-depricating, was at USD and how we need to beat the Jacks in order to make that game a rivalry.
Just a great quote on so many levels. I have a feeling this team will be ready when the Jacks visit the Dome.

Right now the NDSU win is just lipstick on a pig until we can prove that game is not an anomaly. I truly believe we will take care of business, but I 'm starting to come back to reality here and focus on the task at hand.

I said that if we keep beating NDSU that our names would be circled on the schedule. You know it's true.

Don't go dredging old threads up now and ruining things.
