...volleyball at the SCSC at 7. Ok, this has to stop. It's the second time I have read SCSC and I finally figured out they were talking about the new arena. I seriously was thinking about some building on St. Cloud's campus. My formal push to nickname the building "The Den" begins. "The Den" works, obviously from the standpoint of a Coyote Den but also because DENny Sanford donated a buttload of money. Come on folks, get on board, start calling this new place The Den. I'm with you. Unless something better gets stated I like "The Den"
It sounds horrible any time someone calls it the "SCSC" or the full "Sanford Coyote Sports Center".

Either The Den or even The Denny would be preferable to the acronym. SCSC lacks any personality.

The reason we've shied away from calling it the den, especially for volleyball, is that the previous competition space for volleyball in the dome was called the "Coyote Den". So saying a volleyball game is going to take place in the Den could lead to confusion for folks who have attended volleyball games at our old space in the past. I understand there could be confusion, but if any person went to a volleyball game in the "old den" they would know there is a new complex where they now play. I also call it the "new arena" or the Coyote Sports Center. |

Everybody, and I mean everybody, knows that is gone now and that USD is in the Arena. We've only heard about it a zillion times over the past couple of years. There should be no confusion. Serious, I'm getting old. When I hear SCSC I think St. Cloud State or the old CSC - Coyote Student Center. No, I don't even use the MUC name, though I know what it is. When I refer to that building (MUC) I call it the CSC or "the place the CSC used to be". |

I like calling it "Essie", but would imagine Sanford wouldn't be thrilled about ignoring the real letters.

SD keeps it close but come up a little short. 27 to 17 New Mexico.

Thank you, sd4ever for getting this thread back on track!!!!! Some of us don't really care what the new venue is called.
I'm just looking for a good game with the Lobos, win or lose. Will watch on Root Sports out here in the western woods and listen to the play-by-play on KIMM Rapid City.
