I heard rumors at the tailgate but don't know what to make of them, if they are even true or the whole story. My guess is that they'll be back this year. Just a guess though.

I guess we will wait for the investigation to be completed. They will sit until then. When the dust settles if they are guilty they should be gone.

A warrant was issued and they did as they should have, turned themselves in. I dont have an oppinion either way other than to say God be with the girl(s) if anything is true and on the flip side, the boys shouldn't have placed themselves anywhere near a situation that this could ever come up. Everybody is in my prayers and God will take care of things.

What an awful series of events. Awful for victim if true. Awful pr for the program. Lots of carnage here. Even if exonerated, careers at usd probably over for accused.

If the offending parties are convicted, yes then they are history as Coyotes. If they are found not guilty there is really no reason that they should not be allowed to continue being Coyotes next season or before. It is too early to make judgments at this time but typically in these cases where there is smoke there is fire.

If they are exonerated the chances of it being before the season is over is slim and none. And if they are exonerated in the spring do they want to come back to play for a school who didn't stand behind them? A school who said you are guilty until proven innocent. I have to think their careers at USD are over regardless of outcome.

They're both in jail so there isn't really a choice...

I'm taking a hard line on this. I really don't want to see them in a USD uniform again. I could give a damn if they "hold resentment" against the school. I hold resentment against them for putting the team and university in this light. We don't need this sort of stench surrounding the program; there're too many good kids on the team. They made their choices and they can deal with the result. If they're found guilty they'll have to deal with the consequences and if exonerated there will be another university where they can continue their education, which should be their priority anyway, and maybe play some ball. I also think that the university is doing a good job in its handling of this situation so far. They're taking it seriously and not trying to sweep it under the rug like an FSU.

Yes ,I'm sure BO at YSU would love to have them,if they are found guilty anyway.

I rescind my guess about them coming back this year. I was not expecting rape charges based on what I had heard. If the allegations are true, I hope they get the full punishment and never set foot in Vermillion again.

IDK why there would be resentment for an event they put themselves in. Where do you buy your crystal balls? I could use one. When you are going by past events you don't need a crystal ball. I was talking about exonerated players at other schools who have held resentment towards their school for judging them guilty until proven innocent. That has happened, that is not predicting the future. Did anyone watch the 30 for 30 on Duke Lacrosse? Those players weren't real happy with their school.
Without knowing the facts of the case it's hard for me to Judge one way or another. I can't come down hard on the players for putting themselves in that situation if I don't know what it is that they did or what position they put themselves in. Obviously if they did what they are accused of then they will and should go to prison. However, with what's been released we have no idea if they are guilty or not. If this is a false accusation or buyers remorse then it's impossible to view this as anything other than the players being victims. We don't know. Duke Lacrosse isn't the only example of false accusations, it's just the most highly publicized one. Don't try to mistake this post for me saying the players are innocent, because as I've clearly said I have no idea as I'm sure most of you don't either. Anyone can get accused of anything. I would like to see the facts of the case before I start to judge people guilty, but maybe that's just the American in me.
