Meh. That doesn’t surprise or bother me much. I think we need to remind ourselves how rare and difficult it really is for a mid-major to achieve an at-large bid. I think we still have a punchers chance of that every year the way Coach P has coached and recruited. But it isn’t a given. Let’s focus on our next first: back-to-back SLT titles.

Two things jumped out for me: 1. Hays' nod for Maddie Krull to be national newcomer of the year (honestly, I didn't think any freshmen would get a ton of minutes, but I don't know much about Krull) 2. The usual love for USD/SDSU is gone. Neither team mentioned other than Krull. They expect the Yotes to drop so far that they both pick SDSU, but don't think SDSU an at-large caliber team. You can do the math of what that means they think of USD.
That jumped out at me as well. I mean, if you think Krull is going to be impactful enough to be the mid major newcomer of the year with what they’ve got returning how does that not translate into a little more love team wise?

I’m so intrigued by who from the underclass steps up to fill minutes and contribute.

The Coyotes and under-rated go hand in hand and that is what makes things so enjoyable. Just keep the hunger and keep shocking the world although at this point it is not really much of a shock.

A couple of interesting quotes from the Argus article. I like that Hank asked more probing questions about these things that many of us are most curious about, rather than just a feel-good fluff piece. Nice job.

yote.us/2IQ1NaQThree more games are now on the schedule. Home versus Lipscomb, and on the road at Wichita State and Bradley.

Nice. Wichita State is a familiar opponent. The article said we are 3-3 all-time against them, so I had to do some research....
We played them twice each while members of three conferences:
NCC conference, (Coach Zimmerman) 1981-82 season - we played them twice during this season, once in Wichita and once in a Missouri invitational, losing both times. I assume they were DII at that time as well?
Great West Conference (Ryun Williams) We split a home-&-home series with them in November of 2009 and 2010, losing in Wichita and winning in the Dakota Dome.
Summit League (Dawn P) We swept the home-&-home series in November of 2017 and 2018.
So we are 1-2 in Wichita. Time to even that up!

i think of all the returning players i think jeniah is gonna be our breakout player. coyote bigs really seems to improve greatly under dawn. taylor frererick was the shining example but many bigs have really improved alot.

Good point, and I agree. Although I’m not sure why you singled out Frederic, when we have Abbi Fogg still playing pro ball in Europe, and Sjerven racking up the preseason Awards. I’m just nitpicking, though. I think Dawn really likes to develop all positions to be versatile. It’s just more dramatic when you see bigs creating mismatches on the perimeter, or when you have a player like Duffy who is a prototype in that system.

the reason i mentioned frederick is because she started out not being good at all and developed into a very effective player. she improved so much from where she started. that is not to take away from the others at all. i just noticed it the most with taylor.

Game day is finally here.
I am intrigued by who starts. I am guessing it will be: Sjerven; Lamb; Korngable; Ugofsky; and Kunzer. But I also won’t be surprised to see them go deep into the bench, especially early in the season.

I don't think Lamb-Korngable-Kunzer all play at the same time. I'm guessing there is some rotation between the three.
