The football team plays this coming Saturday vs Illinois State. Their last game, you know 24-21, was a good one to savor, but 462 days between games is long enough. Here is the depth chart for the game vs the Redbirds.

A true freshman starting at corner will be interesting.
Can't wait to see the Yotes back in action!

Saw on the On Illinois State's two deep they had a running back listed at 6'9", 160 lbs. Although I assume it's a misprint sure would be interesting to see this in action.

It is February 27 and we are in Normal, IL, but rumor has it today is the season opener for Coyote football! I'm not expecting much from this spring season aside from the joy of watching the game and a little preview of what we've got for the fall. Who is the next QB for USD? What do we have for backs behind Henry? Can the young OL build on their surprising success from last season?
It's looking like 55 degrees and sunny with minimal wind at kickoff. A damn sight better than some other trips to Normal in recent history. I'm excited to finally see the Yotes take the field again!

I have also heard there is some good talent behind those 2.

Does seem strange there is an actual football game today. My simple hopes are for player and team development leading into the real season nest fall. Still, it will be fun to finally watch some football again. Having to compete with the NCAA tournament I'm curious about the the interest level, not just with our fans, but among all the fan bases.

Was the last freshman QB to start Noah Shepard? That worked out well for us for four years!

Ugly first quarter. Offense defense and special teams all look pretty average unfortunately.
No pass rush for the defense. Letting their qb pick his shots.
Offensive line getting worked over it seems like.
And the blocked FG....
Hopefully cleans up a bit.
