Watched the game and the talk is how there is a bright future for Dawn and WV. Minnasota is a much better job with a pay jump the big ten with their network has money Watson might have to set out a year

Not good for us from a recruiting standpoint. If Dawns able to right the ship we’ll have a hard time out recruiting her in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Now it’s us, AJ and Dawn all in the same field looking for the same types of players.

Dawn will need better athletes than we recruit to consistently compete. There will be some crossover but not as much as you think. It probably means the best talent in Minnesota will stay in Minnesota. That being said, there are many years where those players aren't power 5 athletes. Those kids will still be available for poaching with promises of playing time.
Good for dawn and the gophers. They will ne relevant in no time flat. She is one of the best coaches I've ever seen. Pair her with big ten level talent and the sky is the limit for that program. I was secretly hoping AJ would get the job. He's the only coach I've seen that can match chops with dawn.

This would be a scenario where I see Larkins’ eye wandering.

This would be a scenario where I see Larkins’ eye wandering. Certainly possible, but she wouldn't be the same player at that level.

She wouldn’t average 17 a game in the Big Ten?
Bold.

She would not be the focus of everything like she is here, though. Of course, according to today's wisdom from the bunny board, Larkins is merely a role players and an example of how Dawn was not able to recruit at a high level here.

She wouldn’t average 17 a game in the Big Ten? Bold. Not exactly what I meant. She has a tremendous impact on the game now and plays a ton of minutes. I should probably have described it in terms of her general role. If she transfers up to power 5, she is just another player. Probably a defense first point guard. She is too small to drive inside at that level and that is most of her game.

Well, if you want to be a .500 team she can continue to be the entire focus. I’d hope some things happen where she becomes a bit less of the offensive focus in Vermillion as well. I wouldn’t think she’d want to give up the role she has in Vermillion. But I could see the coach who brought her there possibly convincing her to leave … if she thinks she can really help the Gophs and they have a spot for her. It’d be one of the only scenarios I can think of where she would leave. But I don’t know a damn thing. I’m just thinking out loud.

She will try to get JJ Quinealy one of the best guards in the country for sure and had some good recruits coming in to WV. Big questions about her staff and of course Watson who may have to set out a year

If this team improves as I hope it does, it would be nice if Larkins was not asked to do quite as much. More threats in the floor and more balance would be nice. Too much was asked of her this year at times. That was often by necessity, but it also led to her trying to do too much at times. I also agree that it would not shock me if she had interest in playing for Dawn again. But I hope not, for selfish reasons. Will also be interesting to see what happens with Watson. Will she follow Dawn? Will she stay put? She'd have to sit out a year unless she got a waiver.

It would be a bad move for the player but rationality often doesn't enter into the equation.
