You have your opinion I have mine. Even if WIU, Youngstown and SIU are wins your at 6. By the way look at the scores last year and tell me that the defense played good with the starters. I hope I am wrong but I don't think so.

As for you elcoyte read my posts. He is not and never will be better than Strevler period. That's what my post were about. So it was ok for people to talk crap about him but no one should defend him? I don't know what your problem is but I don't care. You can say whatever you want but the fact is you are dreaming if you think they will do as good as last year.

WOW!!!! So you can come on here and say how great they are but I say they didn't look above average and I get blasted. Ok what the hell did you see that makes you think this team at BEST wins more than 6 games. I have them losing to SIU because all they do is throw the ball and defense looked bad in coverage base D or not. So explain to me how they beat NDSU and Sate? As for me "Bashing" Simmons read again what I said. People were saying how he should start over Strevler what a joke. I didn't say anything "BAD" about his spring performance now did I? You are in la la land. Sorry I am not going to sugar coat anything. This is D1 football not 8 year old T-ball. If you don't wanna be criticised perform.

Usdyotes the DB’s playing the majority of the game we’re back ups with no experience! They were redshirts just out there getting experience. Don't feed the troll. Virtually every one of his posts, what few there are, has been bashing our players, and for some reason he has a particular grudge against Simmons. Defense was in base package all night but he's probably too uninformed to notice something like that. Listen TROLL I don't care if you come on here and say what you say. The bottom line no excuse for a DB to stand there and let a receiver run right by him and not move. Base defense or not!!. As for Simmons he did ok as I stated didn't bash him one bit so I have no idea what your talking about. The team was at best average looking. Base defense or not these teams we play will throw the ball vertical and if they stand their or not look for a ball no matter what D your in you are finished. So troll on that!!!!!

After watching the spring game my thoughts:
DB: play was horrible. You had a WR run by him and he stood there and let up a 70 yard play.
LB play: Had a horrible pass right too a LB that hit him in the hands easy interception dropped.
DL Did ok with only bull rushing and nothing else
Overall Multiple 3rd down and longs went for 1st downs. D is in trouble!!!!!
QB play average. Simmons only had the best receivers and didn't do much. And before you throw stats at me take away a 70 yd play(DB didn't move) a SPECTACULAR CATCH on a horrible throw for 40? Kaiser and Tsagalis did ok with the line and receivers they had. Parks none factor didn't play really at all.
WR "starters" did a great job showed how good they really are.
OL average starting 5 and subs still need work
Overall team rating C-

If Streveler wins, would be first MVFC player to win the award. What was that bunny coach tweeting again? He had a great year no doubt...good kid from what I've read and a great student(thanks to him you guys didn't get skunked on the 37 MVFC academic selections). His odds are better than average I guess. Yet ,you want to bring up Eck's tweet...Eck is a little busy prepping for a game this Saturday so I'll step in. Streveler had a great season and thanks to him USD didn't have to suffer another 4-7 season. He entertained and built an excitement for your program, put butts in your seats. His stats are almost Tecmo like...Even with all that and the accolades he wouldn't start at SDSU. So yes I'd expect Eck would say that he's not his Payton award finalist. Congrats on your season Chris, I'll admit it was a pleasure to watch you and am glad that we don't have to face you anymore. You are a moron!!! You think that you have a QB? He is average at best. Like the other post said wait till next year. LOL JUST A COMPLETE MORON!!!!!

Not saying he wont be the starter. What I am saying in a one line reply on page one was I dont think he is guaranteed to be the starter. It wont be handed to him. Its up for grabs.

Know all what? I watch the games. By the way Ryan Saeger beat NDSU so by default he should of been the starter his last year not the #3 QB. He did have a win in the valley so he was the automatic starter!! But a win against ISU is the samething.

I wouldn't say QB is simmoms. Its up for the taking!!!!! You've made your stance clear. So clear in fact, that I wonder if you have a connection to a QB lower on the depth chart. If someone on the roster is better they should get the job. Simmons is now the only guy to have taken a snap though, and he has shown great flashes in his limited chances. Simmons has all the tools. He surely has plenty to learn, but he's got a better arm than Streveler (according to Nielson - and anyone who's seen both QBs) and is quite agile too. I'll be shocked if Simmons isn't the starter next year. And you have made your stance that he is the starter. He beat an ISU team last year yes he did. Not a great performance but he won. Has done nothing this year because Sterv was way better. Dont start with this SIU crap either. He did nothing but hand the ball off. Yes he threw the ball but did nothing to win the game. When you come in and have 3 yards to go for a td big deal. If i recall it was a shut out. Also "he has won games in conference " So what so did Ryan Saeger and I believe it was against a little better opponent you know like the team that normally wins it all (NDSU if you have no idea what i am talking about). So if you win a game in the valley your an automatic starter? LOL thats fumny. He has a stronger arm than Strev but NOT A BETTER ARM!!!!! Remember that. No way does he compare to the offensive player of the year!! And this crap if I have a QB lower on the chart is just that. Is simmoms your son? All you do is say hes the best. My opinion is my opinion. Yours is yours. I think he is not good enough to be the starter. Why am i wrong and your right? He is cluless out there. Cant read a defense, doesnt remember plays and looks like he is affraid to get hit. He looks for the #1 option then he gets flustered if not open. Do you think he is being congratulated when he comes off the field from schlafke? He is being told what he did wrong over and over. Your right he can throw it 70 yards good luck with that.

I'd argue our only notable loss is Streveler, given how many key guys we lost during the season. We do have someone with all the tools in Simmons taking over QB though. O-Line, by the end of the season, was Juniors and younger and holding their own. All will be back. RB has zero seniors. WR will lose Van Roekel and Brooks. We are very deep here though. TE we lose Ramsey, but have Hale and Samson to step in. DL we lose Lambert, but have studs in Greenfield, Schultz, and Kline. I'm sure someone will fill in the 4th spot. LB we lose Litrenta (and Wessel, months ago). Secondary we lose Lewis, and that's not major. Nothing compared to what we already lost mid-season. We're set on offense, and have work to do at LB and DB. We will have more depth next year but will inevitably take a step back without the best player in FCS running our offense. I don't think our step back will be a big one though, and we should be in the playoffs again, but I anticipate another finish in the second round. My predicted record for 2017 was dead on so everyone has to take what I say as fact. I wouldn't say QB is simmoms. Its up for the taking!!!!!

It would be great to be able to be convinced that the Coyotes will win this and if the Coyotes can really click on offense and play much better on D anything is possible. The only game I am or was less confident in a win was the game at NDSU but this one ranks #2 for many reasons. The Coyotes still haven't played a complete game for awhile and they need to do that to beat Sam Houston. SHSU is very good at home and they are a battle tested team when it comes to post season even though they have had hiccups but those are typically on the road against the very best in the country. I am going with the Bear Cats 48-28 on Saturday. Not a chance yotes by 14

The following isn't an argument made specifically for or against Simmons the individual. I do believe in general that I like when a quarterback comes in and starts early in his career rather than sitting and not starting until his junior or senior year. With the type of offense that the Coyotes run and the experience and intelligence that it takes to run I would rather a quarterback begin his career as a starter either his freshman or sophomore year. That way the team is not starting over with a new quarterback every year or two. Obviously if the upper class men quarterback is clearly the better player you have to go with him but if it is close at all I would rather get the younger guy in there so the team can have more time with him before having to start over again. The SDSU quarterback still has one year left as the man and he has been there forever it seems. He started playing quite a bit his freshman year. Agreed
