It sounds like NDSU is reducing their student section by 500 some seats to sell to the general public. They cited lack of student interest and inability to even sell out the student section for some games as the reason along with students leaving games early when they have such high demand from the general public for tickets.
If NDSU cant get students to their football games there is no hope for any other school to get a high interest from students. The tool bag from KDLT who asked the question at the Todd Lee intro should read more about the NDSU change. Maybe it will better allow him to understand the true scope of the issue nationally.

When laws or rules are passed I always try to take my own personal bias out of it and side with the correct rule or law that I think is best for all. If I were in the position of a student athlete I would want my freedom to choose what I wanted to do. If I studied at a school for a couple of years and that work made me be able to get accepted into Yale I would want the opportunity to transfer to Yale. I don't think it should be any different for a student athlete. If the recruiting process works as it should an athlete should want to come to that school and stay at that school the entire time they are there. If students are constantly wanting to transfer away than maybe it is a culture issue for a particular school. If the SCSC had the kind of atmosphere for men's games that it did for the WNIT run than maybe Mooney would be more apt to stay. I think that would have been very important to him. The bottom line is why should a rule be implemented for a majority and take away the liberties of the individual player that is effected the most by it. I am all for competition and to give free will to the student athlete puts the onus on the college to be as desirable as possible for that person to want to stay. They still can transfer to Yale. Just cant play basketball for a year. If their "education" and "going to Yale" because of the hard work they put in is that important than not playing basketball for a year, or at all, should not matter. I agree with Yote53, if this transfer rule goes in it ruins the college game. The shady recruiting between schools will get even worse.

AJ is too big of a dork to go anywhere else. Same reason Stigeldork has never left. A lot of people at the ag school are a special kind of weird that would rather sit in the middle of nowhere SD than go out into the big scary world and try to make a career.
It's 2-4 years of school getting a general studies degree and back to the farm in Arlington thinking SD State has a national presence in all sports.

Is there a way to restrict users who currently have a negative reputation points bank from giving rep points?
Also, can it be set up to only allow users to give reputation points after a certain number of posts have been achieved by that user.
If I'm micro managing you Yote53 you can tell me to get lost. I do really like the reputation points however and hope it continues.

Every team has potential. Compare UMKC's men's basketball record over the last 15 years with Idaho State's: Winning seasons (2003/04-2017-18)UMKC: 5 ISU: 2 I realize that the WAC is a weaker BB conference than the Big Sky, but 4 of the 5 winning seasons were in the Summit/Midcon. Neither program has won their conference or been in the NCAA tournament in the past 30 years. It's hard to argue that Idaho State is much better than UMKC speaking specifically about Men's BB competitiveness or potential. I'll give you that they are more attractive as a peer institute, but the geography and travel budget kind-of sucks. i think there is some misunderstanding of who Idaho State is as an institution. They are not a peer institution for any of the four Dakota schools in the Summit/MVFC. They are a glorified Northern State or Dakota State. The University of Idaho is both the liberal arts university and the land grant university in the mold of Nebraska or Minnesota. The same can be said about Missouri State, Indiana State and Illinois State. They are former normal schools that have had a name change in recent years. UMKC is of course a branch of the University of Missouri and is actually more of a peer to USD and SDSU. I did a little research on the National Science Foundation site that lists the research funding of all of the Universities in the country. Here are their national rankings for research. NDSU is far and away the highest ranked. The rankings for the privates are less significant in that many of them are not involved in research. SUMMIT SCHOOLS 124 NDSU 167 UND 181 SDSU 244 USD 261 DENVER 328 UNO 368 IPFW 577 WIU --- ORAL ROBERTS DOES NOT ACCEPT FEDERAL MONEY MISSOURI VALLEY SCHOOLS 195 SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 205 LOYOLA 269 ILL. STATE 429 UNI 458 MSU 460 VALPO 508 BRADLEY 541 IND. STATE 564 DRAKE 800 EVANSVILLE OTHER SCHOOLS OF INTEREST 143 MONTANA STATE 147 IDAHO 169 MONTANA 243 UMKC 268 IDAHO STATE Research funding does not relate directly to athletic performance, but it does relate rather closely to academic reputation for public/state universities. From that perspective, the USD, SDSU, NDSU, and UND are similar to Montana, Montana State and Idaho and UMKC but well ahead of Ind. State, Ill. State, Missouri State and Idaho State. Idaho State is located close to a national research laboratory and has moved up the ranks more rapidly than the other counterparts however. Is this site listing all the grant money a university receives or only grant money related to certain fields of study? I'm trying to understand what area from their website grant money to the business school for example would be listed.

Since the cramp rabbits like to jump obnoxiously into other schools chants likes its somehow funny or cute the SDUI would be a nice addition to their cheesy "TELL THE PEOPLE WHO WE ARE ROOTING FOR" high school chant they do. S.......D........U......I...S.D.U.I.

I agree the Montana's and Idaho's would be ideal. travel is still a little worrisome. But they have nothing to gain right now by doing it. Montana was a founding member of the big sky. Not sure about the other 3. Why would they ever want to change? Or leave that stability? The gain or potential gain would not be worth the risk for them.

Not that I wish to discuss this right now, but you piqued my curiosity when you mentioned Dave Williams. Do you think they would hire Williams to replace Herbster? Herbster is so personal and outgoing... Speaks to everyone regardless of status. I've always found Williams to be a bit distant and aloof. I see him glad-handing the big donors, but rarely have I seen him reach out to bottom rung donors at events I've been to. Maybe that's his job description now - take care of those who write the big checks...? Am I missing something here...? Anyone else have personal dealings with Dave? I had a conversation with him about tailgating 3 or 4 years ago and he could care less about the conversation we were having and came of like a jerk with his responses. It was regarding letting political groups like Rounds and Noem buy season tailgating spots to show up on Ddays only and park their bus. It was only about the money not the atmosphere in his opinion. EXTERNAL ALL THE WAY if/when Herbster leaves.

If I am interviewing, I think I have the following on my list for sure: Eric Peterson (Continuity, recruiting, HC/AD experience) Ben McCollum (Winner) Craig Doty (Winner with limited resources) Scott Cross (Winner with limited resources; D1) Maybe Darian DeVries, but I am not sure. Why has he been in one place for 20 years? I appreciate the mix of experience with Altman and McD, however. I think I am over Miller. I suspect we vetted him before. So did state. Something is missing that we don't know about. I trust our guys discretion either way on this matter. I don’t think there is anything missing with Miller at all. He has no head coaching experience and that is that. He will get a chance somewhere whether it’s here or not. It is kind of funny how in one morning a few changed their tune so much. I think USD and SDSU both had their minds made up on Craig Smith and TJ early in the process. would have taken a lot to change their minds with a different candidate. Especially a candidate that had no head coaching experience. The fact the Miller didn't get the job last time when he was vetted should have no impact this time IMO.

It's so weird that AJ keeps getting passed over for all these jobs. Wabbit posters usually try to always say it's because he's a man but here he is getting beat out by another man for a job yet again.
Must not interview well or something. He is obviously getting looks and open to leaving.

I think we need to be very careful wishing for something other than the summit league. Currently the only option in the Midwest is the MVC. And I don't think there is a lot of interest there for any of the Summit schools. Especially after the success of Loyola Chicago this year has worked out so well.
If we do not make saving the summit as a main option the 4 Dakota schools may end up in the WAC themselves. The Big Sky is not much better for expenses. Ask UND. And the Big Sky is a worse basketball conference than the Summit even with UMKC. The Montana's moving to a new conference with the Dakota schools is a pipe dream.

The board is well aware they are separate entities. But they have a highly vested interested in each other and no doubt affect each others decisions.

I would agree they are the favorite after winning it this year. I still think USD will win it based on what we redshirted/coming in/didnt lose to graduation.
Still a lot that can happen like Daum leaving for Creighton or TJ leaving for the Duke job that he is holding out for.

How could they possibly defend members of their fan base telling Notre Dame they are not relevant anymore but SDSU is because they have made 5 NCAA tournaments but never won a game.
Making fun of Notre Dame celebrating winning the Big10 in hockey this year by telling them to google a wrestler.
Making fun of Notre Dame women basketball for only winning 1 national championship to UConn's 11.
Using NDSU in their argument for why they are relevant. Pathetic.
They have one of the dumbest and most irrational fan bases I have ever seen. Who does these things and truly believes them. These are not jokes. These are a lot of their fans actual opinions. I'm a huge Notre Dame fan and I was legitimately embarrassed people from SD had these opinions let alone were using them in a twitter battle where others can see them.
It does sound like wabbit fans themselves want a change in their barstool account based on other tweets. The guy that is running that is a huge tool and just not funny or original.
I believe he even blocked USD barstool but yet still engages our account. SOUND FAMILIAR TO THEIR BLOG?
